Barbara Harrison
Board Member
Barbara is an active volunteer and a qualified elementary school teacher who has had a varied professional background. She has taught at the post-secondary level and spent many years in her own business as a facilitator of training and development courses for financial services companies. Barbara completed her M.Ed with a thesis on the impact of volunteering on high school students. She is currently a PhD student, with research interests in the areas of service-learning and community engagement. Barbara was born in South Africa, and lived there until she completed her undergraduate studies, but now lives in Canada with her husband and two daughters. In addition to being a director of the board, Barbara is actively involved in the administration of Malamulele Onward, with a focus on fundraising and marketing activities, and she leads Malamulele Onward Canada.
