Our projects to date: Outreach to children in disadvantaged rural areas within South Africa
We are working with children with cerebral palsy, their caregivers, local rehabilitation workers and rural hospitals in South Africa. We have projects in Malamulele, Mhinga and Dilokong in the Limpopo Province and Butterworth, Tafalofefe, Madwaleni and Zithulele in the Eastern Cape Province.

In addition, as of 2006 we have been conducting annual two week long teaching courses for therapists in Rwanda. These courses build the skills necessary for qualified therapists to work more effectively with children with cerebral palsy. Lesotho, an independent, land-locked country within South Africa’s borders is a potential site for future training courses.

As part of our commitment to research, there is currently a multi-year research project underway in Butterworth and Tafalofefe. We’re measuring long-term changes achieved as a result of Malamulele Onward’s work with the children in those locations.

We have plans to start projects in other under-served rural areas of South Africa, as well as to offer teaching programmes in other sub-Saharan African countries.
Our plans are reliant on funding and volunteers.
