Teresia Ralintja
Board member
Teresia is the mother of Thabo, who has cerebral palsy and is now 22 years old. They live in Soweto. Teresia is one of the founders of the Ratanang Day Care Centre for children with CP, at Chris Hani Baragwanath Hospital. This was one of the first day care centres for children with severe disabilities in Soweto run entirely by parents. Teresia is a remarkable peer counsellor who has helped, encouraged and supported many parents of children with cerebral palsy. Teresia brings to the Malamulele Onward board the perspective of parent and caregiver of a child with CP, as well as her experience of working with parents.
